The Aerospace Division at Texas State Technical College is currently seeking an Aviation Maintenance Instructor. Do you have a passion for making a difference in a studentís life? Position Overview:

TSTC is seeking a highly experienced applicant for our Aviation Maintenance Technology department. As an instructor you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Develop and deliver instruction for Aviation Maintenance Technology courses in various subject areas
Meet FAA requirements for instruction time and material
Evaluate and assess student performance in lab and lecture classes
Produce course grades according to the FAA policy manual and course syllabus
Edit and/or update course syllabus
Maintain required office hours
Complete necessary school and FAA forms/paperwork in a timely manner
Perform student advisement and recruitment
Attend after hours school functions such as commencement, meetings, and/or technical and professional development training opportunities
Maintain lab equipment, tools, and aircraft used in coursework
Predict, order and maintain supplies and materials used in coursework
Build training aids
Use school computer programs such as Colleague, Webadvisor, Moodle, Google, ATP and other pertinent programs

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field required (Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance or a related field preferred)
Minimum of two years recent work experience as an Aviation Maintenance Technician required (civilian aircraft maintenance experience preferred)
Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings required
Other FAA certifications preferred
Prior teaching experience preferred
Experience with Aviation Maintenance Technician School (FAA Part 147) operations and requirements preferred
