This position serves as Graphics Design coordinator to ensure that all voting materials, website information, publications and a variety of other relevant materials are produced for the Elections Division and the voters of Texas. Work involves assisting the Special Projects Team Lead in the Elections Administration Section with planning, developing, implementing and maintaining various Division programs.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Provides preliminary creative concept/design/alteration of election-related materials.
Assists with the coordination of layout, design, and editing of online pamphlets, posters, training manuals, election forms, etc.
Assists with updating curriculum and materials for Project V.O.T.E. (Voters of Tomorrow through Education), as well as developing marketing materials for the program.
Updates web content for two agency websites and coordinate website edits with Division management, webmaster and translators.
Reviews and monitors the Election Divisions web pages on the Agency website, as well as the VoteTexas.gov website on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and relevance of materials.
Coordinate schedules, provide relevant files and effectively communicate with the agency purchasers, printers and other vendors.
Will take existing forms (created in Word or Adobe) and transform them to fillable forms (using Adobe Professional and/or LiveCycle) to be placed on the web and create an online Forms Manual for the various election officials in Texas.
Assists with multiple election law conferences including, but not limited to, communicating with exhibitors, creating signs and exhibitor layouts and provide registration desk support.
Serves as phone support staff during major election days as well as phone and online data support with Election Night Returns.
Provides general assistance to election officials, community organizations, internal staff and the general public.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in commercial art, creative/graphics and design. Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-to-year basis.
Ability to accurately translate documents English/Spanish.
A minimum of three years of work experience in the use of the following: InDesign; Illustrator; Adobe Acrobat Professional and Dreamweaver (programming in SHTML, HTML and CSS).
Working knowledge of the following software programs: Adobe LiveCycle; Photoshop; Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
Knowledge or familiarity of making various documents accessible for the web.
Programming experience using WordPress.
Knowledge or familiarity of USPS Business Customer Gateway, specifically with permits and Business Reply Mailings.

Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects and to meet critical deadlines.
Skill in operating computers and applicable software.
Skill in the scripting and editing of materials for publication.
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups.
Experience speaking before small and large groups.
Ability to successfully train others.
Ability to learn new software programs.
Ability to devise solutions to problems.
Supervisory Experience Required
Between $3,166.67 / MO and $3,166.67 / MO
