Successful candidates for the Instrumentation / Electrical Technician role will be responsible for specification, installation, testing and repair of all types of electrical and electronic equipment used in the operation of crude and refined products pipelines. Qualified candidates must be able to make sound economic decisions, ensure incident prevention, drive predictable execution, achieve competitive results, have the ability to effectively communicate with others, be receptive of both challenge and feedback and be able to work independently or as an effective team member

Responsibilities:
* Specification, installation, testing and repair of all types of electrical / electronic equipment used in the operation of petrochemicals, natural gas liquids, and gas pipelines
* Specify, install and program all types of PLC, flow computer and other metering and communication equipment, work on motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters and complete required documentation
* Conduct and witness flow meter proving and perform flow meter calibrations
* Line locating, measurements, regulator equipment inspections and other duties required for daily pipeline operations
* Read and interpret blueprints and understand and apply the National Electrical Code
* Support daily pipeline operations as training and qualifications allow
* Support emergency response operations as training and qualifications allow if needed

Work Experience, Skills and Education Required:
* Two years of experience working on all types of industrial electrical and electronic equipment including but not limited to motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters, flow computers and PLC equipment
* One year experience with electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting, including ability to read blueprints and electrical one-lines.
* Understand and apply the National Electrical Code
* General electrical skills (AC/DC Voltages) with proven ability to test voltages of 3 phase power up to 480 volts
* Highly motivated and able to work independently while using good judgment
* Use critical thinking skills to solve problems
* General mechanical, maintenance, and electrical skills
* Computer Knowledge: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and proprietary database
* Communicate effectively (Verbal and written)
* Valid driver's license
* High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Work Experience, Skills and Education Preferred:
* Five years of experience working on all types of industrial electrical and electronic equipment including but not limited to motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters, flow computers and PLC equipment
* Documentation supporting a minimum of six months experience with Management of Change (MOC) documentation
* Three years of liquid or gas pipeline experience
* Documented OSHA and NFPA 70E training / application experience
* Minimum of a Two year Technical (electrical or instrumentation) Degree
* HAZWOPER trained
* Programming experience
* Supervisory or project management experience.
* Training or work experience in product quality and /or measurement with gas or liquid products.
* General electrical skills (AC/DC Voltages) with proven ability to test voltages of 3 phase power up to2300 volts
* Experience with VFD diagnoses and repair

Other Considerations:
* Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions equipment
* Frequently works in hot, cold, or inclement climate conditions
* Frequently climbs ladders and stairs to reach equipment
* Position requires the ability to be on-call on a rotational basis and to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency response
* Position requires travel of up to 10%
* Position requires the ability to wear a respirator and to pass a respirator fit test
* Position requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Position requires the ability to respond to assigned assets within 30 minutes
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, DOT drug screen, and pre-hire HAZWOPER physical
* This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identifications Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge within a specific time period.
