Job Description

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the Department of Homeland Security is seeking a limited number of applicants for jobs in Austin, TX.

All candidates should possess strong computer, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Eighteen years of age and US Citizenship is required. Selected candidates will be required to complete a background investigation which includes finger printing. Employer is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Salaries are comparable to local pay rates.

JOB DUTIES:
Establish and maintain contact with the Travel Payments Team at the Disaster Finance Center to provide contact information and copies of disaster-specific travel information.
Establish and maintain contact with travel personnel at other support sites to provide contact information and to coordinate operations, share information, and communicate about declaration-specific problems or concerns.
Recognize/Identify potential travel (operational/policy) issues or problems and communicate them to the Travel Manager.
Implement travel voucher appointment schedule process as directed by the Travel Manager; ensure effectiveness of appointment schedule process by monitoring voucher appointment activity and soliciting customer feedback.
Prepare travel vouchers and perform Quality Assurance Review for each voucher prior submission.
Research non-received or erroneous travel vouchers.
Answer questions from disaster staff about travel policy and procedures.


REQUIREMENTS:
Good interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
Written communication and computer skills to generate reports, correspondence, review documentation. Maintain computer based tracking and appointment systems. Developing office materials such as filling systems. Specific knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to multi-task.
Ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a team.
