Job Description

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the Department of Homeland Security is seeking a limited number of applicants for jobs in Corpus Christi, TX.

All candidates should possess strong computer, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Eighteen years of age and US Citizenship is required. Duties & Responsibilities:
Working collaboratively and providing guidance to External Affairs, Disaster Survivor Assistance, Individual Assistance, Recovery and other program areas that interface with the community.
As a Disability Integration Manager with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
•Serving as technical advisor about community partnerships, programs and processes to FEMA, other federal agency, state staff and jurisdictional officials to create inclusive emergency response and recovery plans or actions.
•Leading assign team to provide guidance to FEMA programs to improve understanding of inclusion of persons with disabilities in programs and services.
•Managing Disability Integration staff deployed to their assigned area, could have up to 20 staff to supervise.
•Coordinating and updates staffing plans based on needs of the disaster and force package to carry forth the intent of senior leadership.
•Ensuring scalable and flexible plans to meet disaster needs. Assigns staff as appropriate, to support DI activities and initiatives in line with DI objectives.
•Exercising a broad range of managerial and supervisory responsibilities.
•Helping facilitate identification, development or maintenance of local support, service and advocacy organizations to support coalition efforts and meet survivor needs.
•Meeting needs of community Access and Functional Needs Partner Groups by seeking to increase whole community representation as direct resources to community organizations.
•Applying knowledge of emergency management policies and procedures to meet the needs of people with disabilities according to Americans with Disabilities Act and The Rehabilitation Act and all applicable laws governing emergency management and Civil and Disability Rights laws.

Relevant Experience Required:
•Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ Leadership experience in a small to mid-size organizations.
•Increased responsibility in disability inclusive and culturally appropriate engagement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks with different deadlines and coordinate different yet simultaneous projects.
•Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
