Job Description

The AGM Kitchen is responsible for the flow of food from preparation to completion. This includes scheduling and overseeing: line cooks, food prep, bussers and dish pit employees, assigning duties, ordering ingredients and other recipe-related supplies, maintaining high standards of quality for products, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Kitchen Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Upholds Magnolia’s Mission, Vision and Values.

Supervise employees to ensure all kitchen tasks are being performed completely and in a manner consistent with the Magnolia culture

Communicate with AGM Kitchen when there is potential for shortage and/or overage of a specific baked product

Partner with AGM Kitchen to evaluate quality of baked goods throughout the day. Key factors include freshness, doneness, taste, and appearance

Create and maintain a positive climate regarding the importance of cleanliness and sanitation

Verify sanitation with random area inspections, testing of sanitizers, etc.

Verify completion of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules

Meet weekly with AGM Kitchen regarding product quality, current employees, recruiting needs, scheduling, supplies, costs, victories and concerns

Sign off with AGM Kitchen every shift and every weekly progress and status updates

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 1-2 years in Back of House Management experience

This job operations in a kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks and dishwashers and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees in this role as frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals.
