Job Description

Work involves performing routine to moderately complex administrative and clerical duties. Daily job responsibilities will include: performing a variety of financial clerical duties involved in custody of cash receipts and fee payments and in processing forms, counting money, preparing reports and making deposits; communicating with the public for information retrieval and data entry; and operating a personal computer to enter, verify, research, correct, or retrieve information to a computer system database. The employee will be required to learn the functions, policies and procedures of the Corporations Section. The position requires data entry of a high volume of documents into a database in a fast paced environment. Unusual questions or problems are referred to the section leader. Some overtime work will be required.

• Perform high volume data entry for documents received.
• Batch documents received by the Corporations Section to ensure required fees are received and compare to remittance received.
• Responsible for performing payment related tasks using a computerized system which involves receiving, distributing, transferring, and accounting for funds; receipt of payments by cash, checks, credit card, electronic funds transfer.
• Correctly enter selected information from documents into a computer database.
• Copy and maintain records and files.
• Communicate with the public for information retrieval and data entry.
• Maintain three day turnaround of processing documents.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• May assist receptionist and substitute for receptionist when trained.
• Open and batch mail according to document type.
• May perform other related work as assigned utilizing demonstrated skills as needed or as required by supervisory personnel.


• Ability to type a minimum of 40 CWPM.
• Demonstrated spelling ability of a 70% or higher on a spelling test.
• Demonstrated 10-key proficiency of 70% or higher on a typing test.
• Minimum 1 year customer service experience.

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.

• Must be able to understand and follow moderately complex verbal and written instructions.
• Spelling, numeric, and data entry operator test required.
• Ability to work in a production-like environment to meet daily quotas.
• Ability to meet established deadlines.
• Ability to be flexible and quickly adjust to new situations and changing demands of the team and team leader.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Ability to use a computer to retrieve, research, and provide information.
• Ability to read and understand relevant statutes, administrative rules, policies and procedures, directions, instructions and apply them to filing decisions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and be an effective team player.
• Ability to perform duties in a stationary (seated) position with occasional periods of walking.
• Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to thirty (30) pounds.
• Must be willing to work overtime as required.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, possesses experience and competency in customer relation skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a stressful environment.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and individually.
• Experience in customer service, clerical or administrative work.

• One year (30 semester hours) of college.
• Ability to proficiently read, write and speak Spanish.
