Job Description

Texas Oncology is seeking qualified candidates for an exciting Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist position. The successful candidate will be part of a physics group consisting of ten physicists and twelve dosimetrists covering seven facilities in the Central Texas area. This group supports nine radiation oncologists in a busy practice setting. The position will provide primary medical physics coverage for a clinic in Waco.

Responsibilities will include all aspects of radiation oncology physics, including quality assurance, clinical duties, and acceptance testing and commissioning. The Waco clinic houses two linear accelerators (Varian 23iX and 21CD) and an HDR brachytherapy program. There is an active SBRT program, with SRS starting in 2019. A therapeutic radiopharmaceutical program is under development.

Qualified candidates will have a MS or PhD in Medical Physics or closely related field and board certification by the ABR (or equivalent). The position requires licensure in the state of Texas.
