Job Description


The primary purpose of this Human Resources Generalist position is to provide support for all human resources issues at Magnolia Table. It also provides administrative support as it relates to the implementation and administration of personnel programs and initiatives for Magnolia. This work is in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The person in this position must build credibility and trust among Magnolia Table’s leaders and employees alike and must be able to build bridges to maintain professional relationships. This role will manage People Team programs by developing project plans and delivering routine and transactional personnel services. This role will support People Team Strategies and objectives including but not limited to talent planning, leadership development, and performance management.


This position reports to the People Development Manager.


People Relations Specialist Responsibilities, but are not limited to:

Plan and improve employee relations issues centered around Magnolia’s policies, objectives and initiatives.

Pushes, drives and inspires Magnolia’s culture by talking about it, demonstrating it and encouraging it.

First point of contact for employee questions or concerns

Communicate and address with People Team leadership and business unit leaders all employee concerns in a timely manner

Partner w/People Team Leadership to build and maintain coaching plans.

Relies upon employee relations experience, use of sound judgment, and appropriate use of data to plan and accomplish goals. Become a subject matter expert on all HR related questions.

Seeks guidance to ensure employment regulations are maintained.

Serve as back-up to Recruiters, assist with managing the onboarding process for all new hires

Manage the offboarding process for all employees exiting from employment

Provides forward thinking, positive, solutions-based consultation to business unit leaders while maintaining knowledge of employment regulations

Provide guidance and answer questions on policy interpretation, ensure uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures

Teaches knowledge and serves as a non-biased advisor to Magnolia Leaders.

Will ensure fair employment practices are in the background of decision making by leaders

Administer Talent Management programs, such as leaves, rotations, and work schedules, generate and distribute appropriate documentation.

Maintains and tracks employee relations statistics and analyzes trends in matter types

Maintain all employees’ records, ensuring that they are kept confidential

Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in a related field such as Information Systems, HR, Business or equivalent education and experience

1 - 2 years of experience in HR or doing related work

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong ability to facilitate interaction with all levels of management

Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills

Ability to work in a fast paced environment while remaining calm and organized

Ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality

Desire to engage with others

Desire to be thorough, concise, accurate
