Position Summary: Oversees and facilitates the installation of equipment and components for a project to ensure contractors are fulfilling all obligations and that work is carried out according to approved contracts, specifications and schedules. Serves as a liaison between engineering, maintenance departments, vendors, suppliers and Cooperative interests. Reports on inspections, subcontracting, progress and delays to Construction Superintendent. Provides technical knowledge on electrical substations, transmission lines, microwave communications, right-of-way preparation and other construction activities to Cooperative contractors.
Responsibilities & Functions: Coordinate and oversee construction projects by insuring that work standards, contract specifications, work schedules are met and quality controls meet cooperative expectations. Introduces and implements minor construction changes to accommodate existing conditions. Monitors the receipt, issue, distribution, control, and return of materials utilized on construction projects. Coordinates construction activities with involved departments, utility companies, government agencies, landowners and other construction groups. Collaborate with Construction Superintendent and resolve all queries for construction progress. Monitors and/or performs all field testing and construction data implementations. Maintains relationships with internal personnel, operations personnel, stores supervisor, and externally with contractors, member cooperatives and surveyors to exchange information and advise on construction materials, schedules and contracts. Participate in various project meetings and maintain records of all construction dates and project costs. Assist Construction Superintendent in preparing schedules for projects, closing out process and ensure appropriate filing of all paperwork. Ensures contractor compliance with state and federal regulations ERCOT, RUS, TX DOT, OSHA, JHA forms, accident reports and EPA Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) permits. Prepares and submits daily/weekly construction and progress reports, monthly spending, contractor evaluations, construction forms, SWPPP forms, mileage/timesheets and daily/weekly/monthly billing units and project closeouts to Construction Superintendent. Maintains and submits completed project ďas builtsĒ through the Construction Superintendent to deliver to the engineering department. Routine maintenance on Brazos issued vehicle and equipment. Transport material to Cooperative personnel out in the field. Monitor soil boring drilling and testing.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: High school diploma or equivalent certificate plus completion of specialized training in building construction, communication facilities or power transmission and distribution. Six years of electric utility transmission and substation construction experience. Bachelorís degree in engineering, construction management, or construction coordination/quality control experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: Requires working outside in varying environmental locations and in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes with extreme ranges of humidity and dryness. Requires lifting, pushing or carrying of weights equal to 50 pounds or less. Requires climbing ladders and stairs. Requires sitting for extended periods of time while riding in a motor vehicle. Requires wearing personal safety equipment including breathing apparatus. Must be able to obtain required driverís license. Requires working overtime and traveling at time with short notice. Typical projects require working and staying out of town 80% or more, depending on location. Requires hearing within normal range, hearing aids are permitted. Requires vision with normal range, corrective lens are permitted.
