Ensure that the Memory Care Program and the Magnolia Springs’ Philosophy for this program are implemented and practiced within the specialized unit in the community.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform budget analysis, review and control.
Supervise program staff.
Behavioral interventions and problem solving.
Receive faxes or phone calls from MDs, pharmacies, families, etc. and take appropriate action.
Make copies as needed and manage and update resident charts, appointment books, 911 binders, MARS, etc.
Maintain records of when resident assessments are due and complete assessments in a timely manner.
Coordinate transportation of residents to outside MD appointments.
Organize and update in-service binder as needed and manage the in-services calendar to schedule and complete in-services.
Provide support to frontline staff as needed.
Coordinate staff schedule.
Update RA assignment sheets to reflect services needed by residents on the memory care unit.
Ensure the receipt, storage, preparation and presentation of food adhering to sanitation and safety practices for the community according to Magnolia Springs’ policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a safe and clean manner and in accordance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations
Follow and enforce all sanitary and safety standards.
Observe safety and security procedures.
Use equipment and materials properly.
Report potentially unsafe conditions.
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work performed.

Education Required (Preferred):
High school diploma or general education degree
A degree in a related (nursing, social services, therapeutic recreation) field preferred
Previous leadership experience in a specialized dementia program preferred
Knowledge of and experience with program facilitation and activity program development
Knowledge of and experience with caring for persons with dementia
Require prior experience in caring for people with dementia and in developing and facilitating activity programs, preferably as a Director with a specialized dementia program.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Certification or licensed per state guidelines
Must have current Basic First Aid and CPR certification if required by State
Must successfully complete Magnolia Springs’ Dietary Training Program
Knowledge of local and state health and sanitation and safety codes
Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking, service and operation of all kitchen equipment
Knowledgeable about the disease process, the changes associated with dementia illnesses, how they affect the individual’s ability to function, and the adaptive strategies that help maintain a resident’s abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products

Ability to work various schedules and shifts as needed
Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease
Must possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed.
