Job Description

Project Managers are multitasked managers who are ultimately responsible for the production, execution, and fulfillment of the commitments made by TRCI to its clients, employees, subcontractors, vendors, and governing authorities.

1. Risk management. Risk and liability reduction is the single most important task of a Project Manager. All our policies, procedures, terms & conditions, safety manual, job descriptions, and limits of authority are designed to reduce risk, and therefore need to be understood, implemented, and enforced by project management.

2. Business development. First understand the clientís needs and expectations by giving them the personal and professional attention they seek. Then exceed those needs with reliability, integrity and outstanding customer service. Always seek strong and lasting business relationships.

3. Estimating. Accurately, competitively and timely bid projects by utilizing TRCIís estimating means and methods.

4. Issuing of Purchase Orders. Timely, accurately and comprehensively award subcontracts, purchase materials, and lease equipment as required to maximize profits, productivity, and quality; whilst minimizing change orders, conflict, and risk.

5. Scheduling. Research, construct, manage and execute an aggressive, achievable and easy to understand construction schedule for each project. The superintendent and all subcontractors are to receive a copy of your construction schedule prior to project commencement. Ensure project superintendents post their project schedule on the jobsite.

6. Construction management. Supervise and manage all project activities as required to complete every project on time, under budget, safely, and in accordance with the construction documents, local and governing codes. Regardless of the size or complexity, every project is to be built with pride, respect, teamwork, enthusiasm and determination.

7. Billings. Manage all billings to clients. Ensure that all billings are sent out in a timely fashion, accurately, and with complete supporting documentation. Reduce the number of under-billings. Accurately manage change orders, record keeping, and correspondence.

8. Quality Control. Every project is to be built with a commitment to quality workmanship, accuracy and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Substandard materials and workmanship are not to be tolerated or presented to the client for consideration.

9. Safety. Enforce safety compliance on all projects as dictated by Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the construction industry.

Limits of authority - project managers shall not make financial, contractual or legal commitments outside the limits of authority and budgets set by their supervisor at the beginning of each project. Do not deviate or modify company policies, procedures, terms & conditions, or delegate project management responsibilities. Do not execute client contracts or other legal documents, hire, fire or alter the status of any employee.
