Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to assist with the Company's social media functions, writing and editing material for publications, and serving as an information source for question/calls from the public. Other responsibilities include managing the marketing for the water education program including maintaining databases and materials, analyzing and reporting on social media trends; assisting with maintenance of current information on the BRAs external website; interacting with other employees and the general public; assisting with special events planning and execution and any other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Selected candidate must have the ability to meet deadlines, must have excellent planning, scheduling, and organization skills, the ability to work well with management and technical areas. Successful applicant must have exceptional language and composition skills, knowledge of and experience with social media, background in publication design with basic HTML language helpful.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelors degree or equivalent or an equivalent combination of experience. At least one year in mass communications or related field with social media trend, analysis and metrics experience.

BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY, EOE: The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRAs staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
