Job Description

A building products company with multiple plant locations throughout the United States seeks a Production Manager for its Waco, TX facility to lead the manufacturing activities in servicing a multi-state region. This person will manage a multi-shift operation and report to the plant manager. The successful candidate must have a wide range of experience in operating and maintaining a plant. This person must have experience with material handling, mechanical equipment including: industrial fans, conveyors, packaging equipment, shredders and dust collectors. This position requires a very hands-on person who is a working supervisor and has plant supervisory experience. This person will assist in the hiring, training, and performance management of the production staff. The successful candidate must ensure that daily productivity, quality, and safety goals are met or exceeded. This person ensures that the plant provides the products and services required to get and maintain customers with exemplary attention to Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and Inventory.


Requirements

This Leader must anticipate and respond to a changing environment due to sales and distribution needs in the markets served by the plant. This requires a manager to know their process, market and customerís needs.

In addition the ideal candidate will have:

A four-year College Degree in engineering or related field
A career path that includes direct supervisory experience in manufacturing positions
A hands-on inclusive leader who is technically proficient with demonstrated results
Green Belt certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma with a Black Belt certification is a plus
Experience in EHS with a zero-tolerance mentality
Knowledgeable in manufacturing financial measures of company performance
Outstanding HR and communication skills
Knowledgeable in project management tools
Experience with ownership and quick response to customersí needs
Ability to speak and understand Spanish is a plus
Experience with work place organization, 5S, and standard work practices
Ability to develop and sustain best work practices for each work station.
